You should have posted more pictures of it (the one ate the bottom where the opening is is the most important). I can't tell that's ether from the Bufonaria or the Bursa family, however in ether case it's not on the level of an Argonautidae. Depending on the level of damage its price can range from 15 to 25 euro (that's about 27 dollars tops) but no more than that.

Depends on the condition of the shell. And what do you mean by rare shell because it look same like any other shell and can you hear the sea sound ? You have to put near to your ears and the siund will come from the shell.

Its a silly shell, you spending more money trying to find out what it's worth. Rather make a nice display for it in house and enjoy for discovery which i am sure comes with some kind of story you can share with anyone who asks.

That shell alone is not very valuable. To increase its value you could collect some more cool shells and create something with them. Some ideas may be to put them in a lamp or a jar and then sell it as artwork. I have seen stuff like that go for over $500 dollars.

I think it is valuable at decorating something. Especially, service design for displaying is adequate at it. Maybe it can't be a core item for display design. But it can represent weird or sea feeling as background.
In my country, this kind items are sold for display design. In general, a few of pieces' bundle is sold.

This is called an Italian Lurker! This shell is one of a kind. It comes from the Italian coast. Personally i have never gotten my hands on one of these. The estimated value is NOT 15-20 USD!! This shell is worth aboaut 400-600USD if you find the right buyer. -Jorgen

As far as I believe no body can fix the exact price for rare valuable collections. It only depend on the seller who wish sell at his best price and the buyer who wish to buy the same. I can recommend you for Etsy.com, Artcra or Zibbet to sell at your right fit price.

Hope you clear with this....

if it is CORALLIOPHILIDAE based on its spikes then its worth is approximately $15...but i strongly suggest to to have this checked professionally and in person or perhaps if you could provide a different angle of the shell...you may search online if it is indeed a CORALLIOPHILIDAE...basing on its looks

I am not an expert but lived on water more than land and came cross a lots if sea creatures but this is very hard to put price on as we dont know from where about was picked up and the year also few more pictures from different angle can be very helpful, lastly dose it have any visible cracks? Selling it to the right person can earn you a lot. Collectors pay from £1 - £1000.
